Baseball and snow dont mix....baseball and ice dont mix....so they say....the past 10 days have been an absolute disaster....in fact the whole month of January is a winter mess, destroying any plans or ideas one may have to work on anything substaintial. Food for thought, and my wisdom for today. Do we as parents of baseball players, coaches of baseball players, do we just sit back and wait for our Head Coach to call a practice, to call an event.....of course they will, but do we not think we should push our children, our players to be better on their own? Create a passion on their own? What message are we sending when we just sit back and wait for someone else to call a practice, tools are here, you can practice in your garage, in your bedroom, in your house.....practice doesn't necessarly need to include a bat, a ball, a field, a cage. We can turn a baseball game on and watch how the college and pro level players move on the field, learn how they react. We can workout in our house to stregthen our bodies......baseball is more than hitting a ball, catching a ball, and throwing a ball....yes those are the key ingredients for success but without the other ingredients you are just average. So my thought for the day is instead of blaming others, instead of saying coach didn't call a practice, lets all join in and push our players, our young people not just in baseball but in everything to create a desire to be great on our own. Lets be great.
